There’s a part of me that has spent the last decade cringing every time someone said “Ghostbusters”.

There were 3 of us – Chris Heiman, Scott Vallee and myself, that saw the original movie together when it came out. For the rest of the summer, and sometime after, Ghostbusters became one of the staples of our play together.

I’m 42. They won’t ever be.

It sucks to be the last man standing. I feel like D’Artagnan in his dotage.

I’ve tried to watch the original movie a bunch of times, and it feels haunted to me. That time, those games are so deeply imprinted that I literally see the faces of dead friends in place of those of the actors when I’ve tried to watch it. I can’t sit through it.

So, I’m looking forward to seeing the remake as a fresh start. Everything I’ve read and seen tells me it’s fantastic. via Facebook
