Whiskey Tasting Notes: Bird Dog Blackberry whiskey Kate had a very bad day, spending hours on the phone. I interrupted her once trying to move the dog so I could go pee, and the only conclusion I can reach is that she bought this to punish me. It’s a good looking label, with a classic dog in a field scene with the palette you see on lithos hanging in old garages. And it came with two free shotgun shell shaped plastic shot glasses, so you know this is classy AF. Appearance: It’s got a color. Someone took a lot of time to determine how much colorant to add to this to make it look appealing. The included drinking vessels are opaque. I recommend using them. That way you won’t have to look at it while you’re drinking it. I’d tell you about the legs, but I’m left with nothing but amputee jokes, and I just don’t want to be *that* asshole. Nose: Grape kool-aid, Thunderbird fortified wine, hospital morgue and just a hint of high school party. Flavor Profile: This is a very sadness forward product. The mouthfeel is like a dilution of Karo syrup, it’s initially candy-sweet and fades almost instantly into an SourPatch Kid-like astringency, but with lower quality flavorings, followed by a resurgence of formalin and antiseptics. Recommendation: Dispose of on hazardous waste collection day so that some unsuspecting hobo doesn’t drink it and die of traumatic withdrawal after being so horrified as to go cold turkey. Best served at MAGA/KKK rallies.
