Yesterday’s award of Presidential Medal of Freedom to Ellen Degeneres got a lot of well deserved attention.
But two other winners deserve equal time, attention and respect on the matter, because they are heroes who helped invent the current technological era.
Margaret Hamilton and Read Admiral Grace Hopper received the medal as well, and both of these women are owed a debt by all of us for their foundational contributions to computer science.
